  • Beach driving or parking in a Park Volusia lot requires visitors  of Volusia county to pay a fee. Residents can apply for the brand new virtual (non-sticker) parking permits at no cost. Non-residents can purchase the same parking permit. Beachgoers will no longer have the ability to apply/purchase an annual parking permit at beach toll booths, so apply online, Volusia County Beaches app, or visit a Park Volusia office. Parking programs maintained by municipalities (New Smyrna Beach, Daytona Beach) have separate processes and fees associated with parking lots.

  • To find beach parking, Volusia County has an app where beachgoers can find real-time information about parking locations. At a glance, you will see where parking may be full or where parking spots may be available.

  • As of October 1, 2024, the daily beach driving fee will increase to $30 per day (plus sales tax & any credit card fees) for any non-permitted vehicle. For quicker access to parking and to enjoy the beach, we strongly urge visitors to apply online and purchase the new virtual parking permit. Volusia County residents should also apply for their annual, “no-cost” resident parking permit prior to arriving at the beach.

  • No! Annual Parking permits WILL NO LONGER be able to be purchased at beach entrance ramps.  Annual permits can only be purchased online, in the Volusia County Beaches app, or by visiting a Park Volusia office during business hours. Daily passes can be purchased at the beach entrance ramps.

  • Yes! Park Volusia resident and visitor beach parking permits must be renewed annually. Online applications make the process quick and easy, provided you have the right documentation.

  • Driving on the beach is allowed on Daytona Beach and New Smyrna Beach. While driving on Ormond Beach is allowed, at times it is limited to four-wheel-drive vehicles. Only the southern tip of Ponce Inlet is open to beach driving.

  • Beginning on October 1, 2024, a beach parking permit will allow Volusia County residents to drive on a Volusia County beach for free. However, visitors will have to pay a daily fee or purchase an annual parking permit online or at a Park Volusia office. Volusia County residents must register their vehicles to avoid paying the fees.

  • Volusia County beaches open to vehicles from 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. or sundown whichever is earlier from May 1 through Oct. 31, and between sunrise to sunset from Nov. 1 to April 30, tides permitting.

  • Beginning October 1st, residents can apply for a no-cost parking pass and visitors  can purchase an annual pass here online, in the Volusia County Beaches app, and at the registration events. A new Park Volusia office in Daytona Beach Shores will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday, at 2422 S. Atlantic Ave on October 1st. Stay tuned for a New Smyrna Beach Park Volusia location that will open in the near future.

  • Whether you’re applying online, in the app or in person, applicants will need to upload a valid driver's license, registration for each vehicle, and if a resident, proof of Volusia County residency or property ownership.
